Responsible Defenders of the Faithful,
Recently, my inbox, texts, calls and other communications have spiked on the question of Federal Agents coming into churches and faith-based schools to round up illegal aliens. This fear was all driven by recent executive orders signed by President Trump, then getting interpreted by multiple news pieces and blogs all claiming expertise.
I quickly sensed this was not only a hot and sensitive topic, but that battle-lines (and fears and misinformation) were being drawn along political dispositions.
I wanted to know the truth of what should really be expected. Not “leaning upon my own understanding” I turned to a subject matter expert. I called my friend Bill Kirk in this case.
Bill has been awarded the Washington State's Super Lawyer recognition 20 times. That award is only given to the top 1% of attorneys in the state. He has tried hundreds of cases to verdict and successfully defended many cases of self-defense.
Bill is a real spokesman for the rule and reality of law and those who, when trying to do right, are often caught in the crosshairs of a legal (as opposed to a justice) system. All law is subject to interpretation; I trust Bill’s interpretations.
Bill will speak to our membership (and guests) this coming Saturday 2/15/25, on our weekly Sheepdog Saturday zoom call with FBSN members. The FBSN’s Saturday morning zoom meetings are normally limited to members only, but this is important enough to open it up to non-members as well. This is a hot button issue to many involved in Faith-Based Security. Join us to get a better understanding of what it really means.
Please invite your friends operating in this space of ministry security.
This coming Sheepdog Saturday discussion on Federal Agents coming into faith-based organizations (especially Houses of Worship and faith-based schools) to arrest illegal aliens might cut across your pre-conceived notions whether you are conservative or liberal. Both sides of the topical line are in for some surprises.
I have always said that few (men or women) are as bad as many say and only One was as good as they say. The same is true with this topic. Truth is somewhere between the dogmas. Terms like “never” or “always” or “no way” are subject to some asterisks.
Want to know what one of the nation’s leading attorneys says about this topic? Tune in Saturday at 09:00 AM Central time.
We hope you can make it Saturday 2/15/2025 MORNING at;
